Enchanted Hinduism Temple : Prambanan Temple
Prambanan Temple also known as Lorojongrang Temple is the biggest Hinduism temple in Indonesia. Prambanan temple was built in 9th century during the Sailendra Dynasty, with 47 meter height. It was located at Bokoharjo Village, East of Yogyakarta. This temple was discovered by C.A. Lons in 1733. In 1885 they try to reveal the presence of this temple by cleaning the site from vegetation and then they try a few effort to reconstructed temples in the site.
There are carvings that tell us the Ramayana Story on the Siwa and Brahma Temple. The relief of Krisnaya was carved in the Wisnu Temple. The restoration of this temple was finished in 1953, 240 temples undergone restoration.
Prambanan have a few temples :
- Siwa Temple (the main Temple)
- Wisnu Temple (Located at the North of Siwa Temple)
- Brahma Temple (Located at the South of Siwa Temple
- Nandi Temple (Located in front of Siwa Temple)
- Apit Temple (Located in the North and South flanking row of temples)
- Four Sudut Temples (Located at each of the corner of the main square)
- Four Kelir Temples (Located in front of each gate of the main square)
Now you can watch the Sendratari Ramayana Ballet at the Trimurti Theater. This show started at 19:30, this dance was presented by more than 50 professional dancer. In this theater we can enjoy the dance with the Prambanan Temple as the background. The night view of Prambanan was amazing because they have great lighting that makes Prambanan Temple more beautiful and attractive.
